Jandhyala Veera Venkata Durga Siva Subramanya Sastry (January 14, 1951 - June 19, 2001) was a legendary Telugu film screenwriter and director. He was born in a Telugu Brahmin family on the auspicious day of Makara Sankranti(January 14th) in 1951 at Narsapuram, West Godavari. He graduated with B.Com from SRR & CVR College in Vijayawada.

Jandhyala is popularly known as Hasya Brahma Jandhyala, for his great comedy movies which has created an indelible impression on Telugu community. He introduced many comedy actors like Naresh, Brahmanandam, Suthivelu and Suthi Veerabhadra Rao. His film 'Aha Naa Pellanta' is considered as the best comedy movie ever made in Telugu. His movie Ananda Bhairavi is a milestone in his career, and won many awards. He directed several hits like Nalugu Sthambalata, Aaananda Bhaivari, Rendu Rellu Aaru, Aha Naa Pellanta, Vivaha Bhojanambu, Choopulu Kalasina Subhavela, Chantabbai, Amara Jeevi, Seeta Rama Kalyanam and Padamati Sandhya Ragam.
