Chakravarthy (born September 8) is a noted Music director in Telugu Film industry and is well known for his catchy tunes. He made his debut as music director with 'Mooga Prema' in 1969. Right from the first film, he proved a successful music director and continued his winning streak for about 20 years, i.e, till 1989 and created a new trend of his own and made a history in the Telugu film industry.
Chakravarthy was born in Ponnekallu village, some 10 km away from Guntur town in Guntur district. His actual name is Kommineni Appa Rao. He used to maintain his own orchestra during his college days and the main singer of the troupe was none other than Chakravarthy himself.
